Once again, the Bulgarian taxpayer must pay the price of your claims, wrote the deputy prime minister on Facebook.
Again, the same comment by Radan Kanev. Again, reviling against something that we, in Bulgaria, are trying to do in order to improve the lives of more than 200 000 people living in the southwestern part of the country. This was posted on Facebook by Krasimir Karakachanov, leader of VMRO, Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister. Below is the full text of his comment: Mr. Kanev, stop tarnishing the name of Bulgaria in the EP. This is not the reason you were sent to the European Parliament, nor is it to serve the interests of the pink-green marionettes who take millions to count ants in Kresna Gorge while enjoying the mountain scenery from the luxurious spa hotels. These people, supported by ultraliberals from DB like you, stopped the construction of the second cable car in Bansko and took the bread from the hands of thousands of families, hundreds of small and medium entrepreneurs in the region. Now you, obviously taking on the heroic position of their speaker, claim that you stand up for the business and care for its important problems, while opposing your country and the economic development of the whole region. It is a pity, having in mind your demonstration of anti-Bulgarian attitude, that Bulgaria is on your name tag in the European Parliament. Our country needs the Struma Motorway. The people in the region need economic growth that can be achieved with infrastructure adequate for the EU dynamics. Now the working road is the only connection to a part of Southwestern Bulgaria. In case of a natural or a technological disaster, or a problem concerning national security this region may end up in complete isolation. Do you know how many people lose their lives every year on this road because of its heavy traffic and the lack of an alternative route? 235 casualties in the past years and more than 500 accidents. I am giving you the information. Or this does not interest you either? If you think that there are problems, then bother to see how you can help in your capacity of a Member of the European Parliament. Stop pulling out cheap political dividends by playing with the lives of the people driving through the gorge and by sabotaging the attempts of the government to improve the living standard of hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians in Southwest Bulgaria. And I want to know what your proposition is. To spend several hundred million more on tunnels and other facilities? Okay, then. Will the funding come from you or from your green friends who are getting good tranches anyway and spending non-accountable money? I doubt it! Once again, the Bulgarian taxpayer must pay the price of your claims. A price that can be enough to construct the other problematic connection, the one with Vidin. There are Bulgarians living in that area too, Mr. Kanev. Blitz.bg
