“A petition was submitted to the European Parliament aiming to stop the construction in Kresna Gorge. One group of extortionists with Bulgarian citizenship masked as conservationists is trying to stop the construction of this part of Struma Motorway. They protect foreign interests and want to prevent Bulgaria from finishing the project.” These were the words of Angel Dzhambazki, member of the European Parliament, in front of Nova Television.

He warned that if the Greens’ claim is upheld, every Bulgarian family will have to pay about 2500 – 3000 BGN for the expenses. “The petition will be voted next week. There will be Bulgarian votes in its support and I am not surprised. Next week we will know the names of the Members of the European Parliament in support of the petition. They will vote against the Bulgarian interest,” predicted Dzhambazki. There are three price quotes for the construction of the section of the Struma Motorway passing through the Kresna Gorge. “If the European funding of this important project is cancelled, we will need to give the money back and pay the remaining amount,” the M.P. expressed his concern. Dzhambazki added that once again we are witnessing how Bulgarian residents work against their own country. He qualified the petitioners as green extortionists and racketeers. “They hinder the development of Bansko and Vitosha. These people enforce ecological terror. This is the new Bolshevism.” Informo.bg Dzhambazki: The Greens stop the development of Bansko and Vitosha by ecological terror
